Banjo House
From the outset, the intent was clear: to create a home that feels enduring, calm, and firmly rooted in its Snowy Mountains context. Where the builder Jindabyne Homes pursued performance to the highest standard, the interiors follow the same ethos, crafted to nurture, to last, and to settle quietly into place.

TYPE Residential, New Build PHASE Complete
Nestled in the alpine setting of Jindabyne, this home is shaped by stillness and endurance. Its interiors draw gently from the landscape, the soft greens of snow gums, the grounding presence of granite, and the quiet calm of the natural surroundings.
Australian-made materials were chosen not only for their craft but for their values: beauty, longevity, and an ethical footprint.
The kitchen is anchored by Luna Grigio marble, richly veined, timeless, and enduring. In the laundry, hand-made tiles and limestone flooring add intimacy and craft. Decorative lighting by Robert Gordon, Tovo Lighting, Nook Collections, and South Drawn punctuates the spaces with sculptural presence, pieces designed to be lived with and loved over time.
In the bathrooms, Fibonacci terrazzo and Mineral Fox microcement introduce texture and tactility in quiet contrast. Blackbutt timber joinery lends warmth, while Faucet Strommen tapware, proudly Australian-made, brings grace to everyday rituals.
The design embraces restraint. Shadow-line skirting and pared-back detailing allow the materials themselves to speak, establishing a rhythm of calm and timelessness. Externally, muted green tones allow the home to recede softly into its alpine surrounds, while Tovo copper wall lights, designed to patina over time, form a natural continuation of the landscape.
This is a house built in collaboration, between builder, designer and client. Each decision was shaped by a commitment to longevity and authenticity. The result is a sanctuary where craft and calm converge, designed to age gracefully and hold life gently within its walls.
